[Tiger 321]

Detail - Road Wheels - Pete Fertl Custom Machining

The original Armortek design had the road wheels spin independent on the axles. Each pair of road wheels were actually attached to each other on real Tiger. In 2006, Pete offered a significant upgrade to the road wheels that did just that. The modified wheels use the "inverted" design where the inner single wheel (CE0207) is flipped to face the hull. Additional machine work included smoothing of the outer wheel surfaces and extra bolt detail.

The wheels were modified to take a custom spacer.

An "exploded" view of the double/single assembly showing the custom spacer. The double tire wheel on the left is Armortek part number CE0213, the single tire wheel is part number CE0206.
A bearing is placed in the double tire wheel and the spacer is bolted to the wheel with six 4-40 bolts.

The inverted wheel also gets a bearing between the custom spacer. Six 4-40 nuts and bolts are used for the single wheel.
Each outer wheel is attached to the spacer with three recessed screws. The outer wheel bearing is then inserted into the hole and is ready for the hub caps.

It seemed a shame to paint the machine work.
